For that matter, the display arrangement that I set (external 'above' laptop screen) would just change some of the times I would wake the system from sleep mode - such that the external monitor was arranged to the left or the rigt side of the laptop screen - all by itself.
And even so, the external 32" BenQ monitor I connected via HDMI will sometimes "black out" - in some cases all windows that were on it would appear on the laptop screen (telling me it was officially 'offline'), while other times the screen would go dark but I could still move the cursor into that monitor. The latest versions do work fine - I have a MacBook Pro with 16GB RAM and 1TB internal SSD.īe aware there are some quirks with the M1 hardware - for one thing, it is not able to handle two external monitors (Apple supposedly will fix this in a future OS release).
